Go Go Congrats to Dan Lack, entrepreneur and organizer of “Meeting of the Big Minds”.  A couple weekends ago, Dan somehow managed to get some of the countries top thinkers, entrepreneurs and strategists together to create a new “Master Mind group” of people who we can now pick up the phone- call and ask for help, guidance and assistance on anything we need.  One weekend together on Dan and ben’s grandparents ranch (called the “Fox Creek Ranch”) and we are now bonded as a group.

Why so amazing?  I told Dan, the only other group like this that I had been part of where a group of thinkers were pulled together to spend a weekend on the ranch is the one organized by my friend and colleague John Mackey, Founder and CEO of Whole Foods who brings together the whose-who of leaders from around the globe.  I told Dan- “you are 26 and already making this happen!!!!!”- KUDOS to Dan and this gives you a snapshot of whats to come from this one.

MASTERMIND GROUPS are a key way to making your idea happen.  They bring together like-minded people who have experience, insight, vision, determination, a Rolodex and lots of hard-learned lessons that can help you get to where you want to go faster.  Andrew Carnegie was a HUGE fan of Master Mind groups and has his own when he was building his business over many years…Napoleon Hill talks about surrounding yourself with like minded thinkers in “Think and Grow rich”.

The key with these groups is COMMITMENT to them, to one another and being available to help the others in good times and bad just as they make themselves available to you.  With these groups, you can share in confidence what is really happening in your life and business and together- work on strategies and tactical ways to get beyond challenges, see the opportunities and reach your goals.

For me, I have a few Master Mind Groups.  I have The Big Minds Group (see below), The Billionaire Girls Club and my own Advisory Board with people like Red McCombs (Clear Channel), Tim McClure (brand expert and founder of the ad agency GSD&M/ think “Don’t Mess with Texas- that’s Tim) and Tim Sanders (www.timsanders.com).  Together, MBM allows me to be around other global thinkers and do-ers, the BGC enables to to continue thinking BIG (billions in every sense of the world) while making a global difference and my advisory board keeps me real, focused and grounded (they have all been where I intend to go).

HERE IS HOW TO FORM A MASTERMIND GROUP OF YOUR OWN:

* LOOK TO THOSE PEOPLE YOU ADMIRE, RESPECT AND FEEL AS THOUGH YOU CAN LEARN FROM WHILE ALSO BRINGING VALUE TO THEM

*  ASK IF THEY WILL FORM A GROUP WITH YOU.  MEETINGS CAN BE AS OFTEN OR AS FEW AS YOU DETERMINE.  THERE IS NO SET WAY TO DO IT.  The key again is simply the COMMITMENT to be available to one another and to allow yourselves the opportunity to be open, honest and real.

*  SCHEDULE YOUR MEETINGS.  With all my groups, we have scheduled in person meetings 1-4 times/year in person, have regular scheduled calls and of course are available anytime to one another via email or if in need.

*  HELP one another.  keep one another visions and leverage your skill sets, knowledge and Rolodex to help one another accomplish your dreams.  I ASSURE you with groups like this around you- you CANNOT do anything other than reach your goal.
