RISE Conference a Blast & a Success

Speaking at RISE Conference

Speaking at RISE Conference

Hi all- last week had a great opportunity to speak at the RISE Conference for entrepreneurs in Austin Texas  My topic was “Ideas to Business”.  The cool thing about this conference is that it is not located in one main building.  In fact, all the speakers organize their own speaking locations (anywhere in Austin) and the session is limited to 25 sign ups.  This allows the attendees to get a lot of one-on-one interaction and fosters discussion amongst the group.  What a great way to put on a top notch conference and do it on a budget!

I was pretty pumped to hear that my session had been booked up with a waiting list (thank you!).  Attendees were coming in from all over the country and by the time I met them- I was so excited to hear about all their diverse entrepreneurial backgrounds and interests.  People on the waiting list decided to attend anyways- so we ended up with a group of about 40 people which was a lot of fun.  We talked about starting an idea in this economy and that in fact- now is one of the BEST times to start a business.  People are looking for deals, talent is waiting to be hired (where you can leverage creative compensation plans to attract them) and investors are keeping their eyes out for “the next best thing” ala Warren Buffet style- (buy when things are inexpensive)….

Long story short- it was a great session and if you haven’t heard of it- check it out for next year.  Top notch speakers bring their knowledge and expertise to share and the conference is FREE to attend.  Thank you RISE and all the attendees!!!  See you next year!
